The end of a mini ice age 11,500 years ago was marked by high concentrations of methane, a powerful greenhouse gas. Scientists studying climate change want to know where all that methane came from. They just need old ice. Lots of old ice. And they have found a nearly limitless supply of it at the top of Taylor Glacier.
