Deep Core Complete

The U.S. Antarctic Program has drilled and recovered its longest ice core to date from the polar regions. It took five years working from a lonely field camp in one of the stormiest regions of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet to extract the ice, which contains clues about Earth’s past climate from the last 100,000 years.
