Sridhar Anandakrishnan never had any ambitions on becoming an Earth scientist, let alone a specialist in the behavior of Antarctic ice, while attending graduate school in the 1980s. Now a professor at Pennsylvania State University, Anandakrishnan has made 17 trips to the Ice in the last 25 years, becoming the foremost expert in the USAP using reflection seismology.
